In May of 2009, the partnership between the Marion Community Credit Union and Heart of Ohio Mentoring culminated in the opening of the Marion Community Credit Union Family Enrichment Center.
With a grant from the Ohio Credit Union Association and the support of vendors, local businesses, organizations, and individuals the building was completely renovated. The building was the prior facility of the Marion Community Credit Union, which was under their original name of the Marion Erie Credit Union. The credit union began with employees of the Erie Railroad.
Thanks to the Marion County Historical Society, we are able to recognize the origin of the facility. Inside of the center there are momentos, pictures, and documents of the Erie Railroad history.
The center's mission is to provide educational programs and services to that geographic area of the city of Marion. All of these services and classes are provided at no cost to the participants.
